The Outpatient Department (OPD) Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive, efficient, and patient-centered nursing care to patients attending outpatient clinics and ambulatory care services. The role involves patient assessment, triage, nursing procedures, medication administration, health education, care coordination, and supporting physicians and other healthcare professionals in delivering high-quality outpatient care.

The Junior Nurse is responsible for providing safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care to patients under the supervision of senior nursing staff. The position supports the delivery of quality healthcare by assessing patients, implementing nursing care plans, administering medications and treatments, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention standards, and patient safety protocols.

Statement of Duties to be Performed

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders and established nursing standards.
• Assess patients' conditions, monitor vital signs, and promptly report any changes to the supervising nurse or physician.
• Administer medications, treatments, and intravenous therapy as prescribed.
• Assist physicians and senior nurses during examinations, procedures, and medical emergencies.
• Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation, patient records, and treatment notes.
• Educate patients and their families on treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions as appropriate.
• Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control policies and patient safety standards.
• Prepare and maintain medical equipment, supplies, and patient care areas.
• Participate in shift handovers and communicate effectively with members of the healthcare team.
• Respond appropriately to patient needs and emergencies within the scope of practice.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to professional nursing ethics.
• Participate in continuing education, training, and quality improvement activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Washington Healthcare PLC. 

Education

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Valid nursing license/registration to practice.

Prior Work Experience

• 0–2 years of professional nursing experience.
• Clinical internship or previous hospital experience is an advantage.

Job Knowledge

• Basic knowledge of nursing principles, patient assessment, and nursing care procedures.
• Knowledge of medication administration and clinical documentation standards.
• Understanding of infection prevention and control practices and patient safety standards.
• Familiarity with basic emergency response procedures and standard medical equipment.
• Knowledge of hospital policies, nursing ethics, and quality of care standards.
